Bruce LaBruce e Celso Junior
Esta quinta-feira, o Queer Lisboa 15 dedica uma sessão a um dos seus realizadores de eleição: o canadiano Bruce LaBruce. Integrado na secção Queer Art, The Advocate For Fagdom (França, 2011, 92’), de Angélique Bosio é um documentário a não perder sobre a vida e a prolífica obra de LaBruce. Em complemento, será exibido o mais recente trabalho do realizador, o teledisco Revolving Door (New Fuck New York) (EUA, 2011, 3’), para a canção do intérprete e artista plástico nova-iorquino Gio Black Peter, num registo gore e explícito.
Ainda no Queer Art, é exibido o documentário !Women Art Revolution: A Secret History (EUA, 2010, 83’), da artista Lynn Hershman Leeson que, durante mais de 40 anos, coleccionou centenas de horas de depoimentos de artistas visionários, historiadores, curadores e críticos que dissertaram sobre as crenças e os valores do Movimento de Arte Feminista.
Numa Sessão Espacial, Celso Junior, fundador e director do Festival de Cinema Gay e Lésbico de Lisboa até à sua 8ª edição, é o objecto do documentário The Life and Death of Celso Junior (Grécia, 2011, 48’), de Panagiotis Evangelidis. O documentário é um olhar à importância do fetichismo na obra de Celso e esta sessão conta com a presença do realizador e de Celso Junior.

This Tuesday, Queer Lisboa 15 dedicates a screening to one of its favourite filmmakers: Canadian Bruce LaBruce. Part of the Queer Art section, The Advocate For Fagdom (France, 2011, 92’), by Angélique Bosio is a not to be missed documentary on the life and oeuvre of LaBruce. In complement, the Festival presents the filmmaker’s most recent work, the gore and explicit music video Revolving Door (New Fuck New York) (USA, 2011, 3’), for New York based performer and artist Gio Black Peter.
Also part of Queer Art, we present the documentary !Women Art Revolution: A Secret History (USA, 2010, 83’), by artist Lynn Hershman Leeson who, for over 40 years, collected hundreds of hours of interviews with visionary artists, historians, curators and critics who shaped the beliefs and values of the Feminist Art Movement.
In a Centrefold Screening, Celso Junior, founder and director of the Lisbon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival up to its 8th edition, is the object of the documentary The Life and Death of Celso Junior (Greece, 2011, 48’), by Panagiotis Evangelidis. The film dissects the central importance of fetishism in Celso’s work, and both Celso and Panagiotis will be in Lisbon to present the film.

Debate VIH/SIDA: 30 anos depois
A seguir à exibição do documentário em Competição We Were Here, de David Weissman, sobre o impacte dos primeiros anos da epidemia da Sida na cidade de São Francisco, o CheckpointLX organiza um debate com o título VIH/SIDA: 30 anos depois, com a presença do Dr. Kamal Mansinho (Hospital Egas Moniz), do Prof. Dr. Jaime Nina (Hospital Egas Moniz) e do Dr. Pedro Silvério Marques (Centro Anti-Discriminação VIH/SIDA). O debate tem lugar esta quinta-feira, na Sala 3, às 20h30.

Following the screening of the documentary in Competition We Were Here, by David Weissman, on the impact of the early years of AIDS in San Francisco, CheckpointLX organizes a debate entitled HIV/AIDS: 30 years later, with the presence of Dr. Kamal Mansinho (Egas Moniz Hospital), Professor Jaime Nina (Egas Moniz Hospital), and Dr. Pedro Silvério Marques (Centro Anti-Discriminação VIH/SIDA). The debate takes place this Thursday, in Theatre 3, at 8.30pm.

O nº 2 da Little Joe estará à venda no Queer Market do Queer Lisboa 15 e tem como tema de capa o filme Taxi zum Klo (Alemanha, 1980, 91’), de Frank Ripploh, filme da Noite de Encerramento do Queer Lisboa 15.
Esta quinta-feira tem lugar a Festa Little Joe, no Woof X, a partir das 23h00, oportunidade para conhecer e adquirir esta publicação e falar com o seu editor. A entrada é livre.

Jury member of the Competition Section for Best Feature Film, London-based designer Sam Ashby is also the editor of one of the most noteworthy queer cinema publications to date: Little Joe.
Little Joe n.2 will be on sale at the Queer Lisboa 15 Queer Market, and its cover feature is Taxi zum Klo (Germany, 1980, 91’), by Frank Ripploh, our Closing Night Film.
The Little Joe Party takes place this Thursday evening, at Woof X, from 11pm, a great chance to get to know and buy this magazine, and talk to its editor. Entrance is free of charge.
